Show Day Exhibitor Information
Hi Everyone,
Firstly, thank you very much for entering our Latheron Show this year, we really appreciate the hard work and effort everyone puts in to getting their livestock, horses, poultry, pets, and machinery ready for the show. The show prep is just about complete and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. We have good entry numbers across the board with another good increase in sheep entries this year as well as some first-time exhibitors and we’re fully subscribed across our trade and craft stalls. What a great way to start our local show season.
With that in mind, I want to pass out some relevant information for all our exhibitors so that you are fully prepared with your livestock paperwork, show field protocols, event times and order of the day. The show catalogue is on sale in D&S Hendersons Lybster Shop and int the 727 Newsagents and Post Office, Lybster as well as from the show field today and from here at Mavsey Croft, Lybster. As usual they will be for sale at the entrance of the morning of the show at a cost of £3.
Due to high numbers of vehicles last year we have slightly altered the show field access and parking. On arrival to show field please go follow the signs and enter the show field where Robbie will direct you to your allocated stock drop off/ parking areas.
– The cattle and sheep pens are in the same location so please head down there in single file being patient to allow others to drop their stock off before moving to allow your entry. Once your cattle is settled, please take your passports to the secretary’s portacabin and collect your livestock numbers.
-For sheep, the pens will have farm names and breed written on them but please speak to your steward before unloading.
Please note for MV, you MUST have your MV paperwork available for the steward on arrival and must not unload your sheep before being instructed to do so. Once your animals are unloaded, please make your way to the secretary’s portacabin to collect your livestock entry numbers.
-Poultry, please make your way to the allocated Poultry parking beside the Poultry Marquee, you MUST leave your birds in your vehicle and head to the tent and make yourself known to the Poultry Steward Donnie Bain. He will update you with current procedures. Judging will take place at approx 11am but you will be informed beforehand by the Poultry Steward.
Your stewards are there to help all day so they are your first point of contact. Any other problems you can go to the portacabin beside the main ring at any time during show day.
I have attached a copy of our exhibitors’ information & horse running order information, hopefully it will answer all the questions you have. If not please feel free to call me on 07867 698349 or through any of the normal messaging services; Latheron Show Facebook page, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, text, or email.
For directions, please use the Post Code KW3 6AZ, or what three words ///loom.animals.luck
The show field layout remains as it usually is with Sheep, Cattle and Goats on the right side and Poultry/Horses on the left. Please ensure you follow parking instructions from our stewards and uphold our 5mph speed limit on the field. We ask you all to be in by 9am so we can reduce the vehicle access and movement around the show field after that. Public parking has been moved to the field on the right beside the showfield, vehicles will be directed there on arrival.
There is mains water provided beside the sheep/cattle pens and an array of portaloos around the show field. .
If you have any problems opening the attachments or have any queries or questions before show day, just give me a call or send me an email.
Kind regards,
Joanne
